RAPIDINHAS DO TDN

 BELARDO'S LULLABY MOON TOPS MIESQUE

Ralph Beckett trainee Lullaby Moon (GB) (Belardo {Ire) bagged two of her first three outings before hitting the board in Ayr's Sept. 19 G3 Firth of Clyde Fillies' S. and broke through for a first black-type success in Redcar's Oct. 3 Listed Two-Year-Old Trophy last time. Sent postward as the 11-10 odds for Saturday's G3 Prix Miesque at Chantilly, she overcame a troubled passage to justify favouritism and earn a career high in the seven-furlong contest. The eventual winner was swiftly into stride and on the lead early, but was shuffled back to race fifth along the rail as keener rivals set each other alight up front after the initial exchanges. Slipping down to seventh and boxed up along the far-side fence in the straight, she made smooth headway to seize the moment when an opening appeared inside the final quarter mile and quickened clear once seizing control with 150 metres remaining to register an ultimately emphatic two-length success from Asterella (Fr) (Olympic Glory {Ire). Cont. p2

ENGLISH RACING TO CONTINUE AMID NEW COVID-19 LOCKDOWN

British Prime Minister Borris Johnson announced during a press conference Saturday evening a four-week national shutdown, set to begin Thursday, Nov. 5, as a result of the rising COVID-19 cases in England. While horseracing and other elite sports will be able to continue behind closed doors, betting shops, which re-opened following the initial lockdown June 15, are scheduled to be among businesses closed later this week.

BRAD THE BRIEF STARS AT CHANTILLY

On another day when British-trained horses carried off French pattern-race prizes, Brad The Brief (GB) (Dutch Art {GB}) followed where Lullaby Moon (GB) (Belardo {Ire}) had led by outbattling the domestic sprinters in Saturday's G3 Prix de Seine-et-Oise at Chantilly. Successful on his penultimate start in Newmarket=s Listed Hopeful S. over this six-furlong trip Aug. 29, the 15-2 shot chased the pace throughout the early stages and after mastering the long-time leader Air de Valse (Fr) (Mesnil des Aigles {Fr}) with 150 metres remaining was in command for a 1 3/4-length defeat of Coeur de Pierre (Fr) (Zanzibari), who denied Air de Valse the runner's-up spot by a head. Brad the Brief has gone some way to filling the void left by the sad death of the Tom Dascombe stable's star sprinter Kachy (GB) (Kyllachy {GB}) in February, progressing this season from a handicap win at Haydock June 8 to a then career-best in the Hopeful. Fourth last time in the rescheduled G3 Bengough S. at York Oct. 10, the bay was emulating his dam Kenzadargent (Fr) (Kendargent {Fr}) in taking a French black-type race after she captured the Listed Prix des Jouvenceaux et des Jouvencelles at two. Also successful in the Miss Liberty S. when carrying the Martin Schwartz silks and racing for Chad Brown, she was placed four times in group and graded-stakes company including a third in the G2 Prix de Sandringham and a second in the GIII Eatontown S.
