This is an original 1964 winner’s circle photo of Tosmah and Sam Boulmetis winning the Maskette Handicap over Old Hat and Snow Scene II. Tosmah was the only three year old in the race and gave more than thirteen pounds to the rest of the field.
Tosmah was bred by Eugene Mori and was purchased privately by Anthony Imbesi and his Briardale Farm for $100,000.
She was by Tim Tam, the winner of the 1958 Kentucky Derby and Preakness, out of Cosmah, the winner of the 1955 Astarita Stakes and the 1974 Broodmare of the Year, by Cosmic Bomb, the winner of the 1947 Lawrence Realization Stakes.

At two in 1963, she won: the Frizette Stakes over Beautiful Day, the winner of the 1963 National Stallion Stakes, and Castle Forbes, the winner of the 1963 Gardenia Stakes; the Astarita Stakes over Beautiful Day and Teo Pepi; and the Mermaid Stakes over My Card, the winner of the 1963 Selima Stakes, and Laughing Judy.
Tosmah was named the 1963 Co-Champion Two Year Old Filly with Castle Forbes.

Tosmah finished third in the Vineland Handicap behind Steeple Jill and Cordially, the winner of the 1965 Mother Goose Stakes.
At five in 1966, she won: the John B. Campbell Handicap over Just About, the winner of the 1966 New Orleans Handicap, and Tronado, the winner of the 1966 Donn Handicap; the Barbara Fritchie Handicap over Queen Empress, the 1964 Champion Two Year Old Filly, and Privileged, the winner of the 1966 Sequoia Handicap; and the Colonial Handicap over Wild Note, the winner of the 1965 Jasmine Stakes, and Cohasset.
Tosmah was second: in the Equipoise Mile Handicap to Hedevar, when he equaled the world record, and ahead of Bold Bidder, the winner of the 1966 Hawthorne Gold Cup Handicap; and in the Columbiana Handicap to Gold Digger and ahead of Queen Empress.
She finished third in the Black Helen Handicap behind What A Treat and Alondra, a Champion in Uruguay.
Tosmah was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1984.
