PONTO CEGO: ATÉ QUE PONTO LIDERANÇA PODE SER COMPARADA A HEGEMONIA?

Muito se fala em invencibilidade. Realmente é empolgante se estar ligado a um animal de quem ninguém conseguiu chegar a frente.  Sejam os adversários que forem. Mas eu considero invencibilidade a partir de três carreiras, pois, como sempre defendi, uma vez pode ser sorte e duas coincidência. E mesmo assim, respeito muito a qualidade das carreiras e os adversários batidos.

Ai eu pergunto a vocês Justify foi invicto nas seis oportunidades que foi levado a pista, assim como Flightlime. Qual dos dois você daria mais valor? Um que tenha levado a tríplice coroa o outro um Pacific Classic e uma Breeders Cup Classic por abandono?

De cara afirmo, que ganhar dos mais velhos ou dos mais novos, me apetece mais, pois, prova hegemonia. Só dos de mesma idade, apenas liderança e creio que tanto hegemonia como liderança, embora de alta importância, são duas coisas bem diferentes.

Os dois me impressionaram desde suas estréias e vaticinei que o primeiro ganharia o Kentucky Derby, e o segundo poderia vir a ser algo do quilate de um Secretariat. Justify, não só ganhou o Kentucky Derby, como arrebatou a tríplice coroa, mas acho que lhe faltou uma Classic para atingir aquilo que considero o poder hegemônico. Flightline esteve perto de Secretariat, mas acho que faltou-lje pelo menos mais um ano de campanha e no mínimo mais meia dúzia de corridas, para poder sequer pensar em uma comparação.

E falando-se um português claro e límpido, Man O´War, Secretariat, Native Dancer (foto de abertura) e outros que possam fazer parte desta lista, tiveram seu dia que ouviram o canto da sereia e pelos mais diferentes motivos, deixaram-se levar.

Como meus navegantes sabem bem, não comparo cavalos que não se defrontaram, pois acredito que pace, largada, direção, distâncias, estado das pistas, e outras coisas podem muito levar a vitória de um lado a outro, exatamente naquele dia e naquela hora. Se Upset e Dark Star, correrem outras 19 vezes contra Man O´War e Native Dancer. provavelmente perderiam as 19. Mas em um determinado dia, e numa determinada hora, eles o conseguiram.

Desta forma respeito por demais invencibilidade, mas acredito também que elas existem muito em função do momento.
